2003 Sierra died while driving and wont start back

Hey guys i was driving my truck and it just quit. No smoke, no missing, no rough running.. just stopped like the key was turned off. Cranks over fine but will not start. Please help I have my welding equipment in the bed and need it running so I can work.

sounds like you got air in your lines, make sure you have over a 1/4 tank and reprime the truck and check for leaks.

I suggest you add 5 gallons of diesel-- the gauges are sometimes off-- also I have heard of the pick-up straw breaking and sucking air, instead of fuel.

Pump the primer on the filter housing-- and open the bleeder to see if there is fuel. If you ran out of fuel, you will have to pump and crank, pump and crank-- repeat

You should also check for codes-- a cheap reader may be a good investment.

Crank position sensor-? Can be a number of things-- but start with the suggestions.

Mine was doing the samething i checked my wiring harness for the fuel control module that runs on top of the alternator there was a short in it causing my truck to shut down without any warning. The bracket that runs along the alternator has a sharp corner cutting into the wires. Just another place to check.
