ATS Diesel Performance
sounds like you got air in your lines, make sure you have over a 1/4 tank and reprime the truck and check for leaks.

I suggest you add 5 gallons of diesel-- the gauges are sometimes off-- also I have heard of the pick-up straw breaking and sucking air, instead of fuel.
Pump the primer on the filter housing-- and open the bleeder to see if there is fuel. If you ran out of fuel, you will have to pump and crank, pump and crank-- repeat
You should also check for codes-- a cheap reader may be a good investment.
Crank position sensor-? Can be a number of things-- but start with the suggestions.

Mine was doing the samething i checked my wiring harness for the fuel control module that runs on top of the alternator there was a short in it causing my truck to shut down without any warning. The bracket that runs along the alternator has a sharp corner cutting into the wires. Just another place to check.
