2002 duramax trans problems

Well i was driving and enjoying my truck and all at once my truck down shifted AT 55 MPH, and went into 3 rd gear have i lost a TCM. 2002 LB7 5 SP. also now when i put the into reverse or drive and set for a miniute the light will start flashing in what ever gear im in R or D and the truck will come out of gear like its in N. so i shift the the truck back into park and then drive or reverse and away i go again now after the truck does its down shift i have turn the truck off re start the truck and it will shift and do ok for abit

It sounds like it is a NSBU switch problem. pretty easy to change because on outside of transmission. its only bolted on in few spots and few wire connectors and the spine to change shift position. Brand new at gm dealer their about $90. NAPA has them for $45. their a newer style that are sealed completely. the old ones or originals ones were not completely sealed thats why they go bad.

Now i have a code p0700 any body know what this code is and after installing the new switch it did it again lol im thinking transmission control module thanks for any help on this code

its called limp mode my 02 does it my buddies 04 does it, the trannys thinks your giving it to much power so it goes in to limp mode. well mine does, is it only when you hammer down on it? do you have the Allison 6 speed? haha it scared the shit out of me when mine did it, it made a loud slam sound and i shit myself! ha
