Injection pump uninstall/install
2002 GMC Duramax.
I have moderate skills, mechanic wise.
Regarding the injection pump, I would like to replace mine. I hear getting air into the fuel management is disastrous.
Is there any links to videos on how to replace an injection pump for my year duramax, or any links here so I can gauge whether or not I can manage the job?
Also, any reference on the best prices on where to buy an injection pump. I want to keep it simple with no mods.

What kind of pressure do you have? I think they are around $700 from RockAuto Auto Parts you may want to be sure you need it first

My truck is throwing code 1093. Currently, it is only throwing the code when climbing steeper inclines on the interstates.
I had 4 injectorS on driver side replaced 3 months ago. Passenger side injectors are all good. I have not had truck analyzed. Truck has 294,000 miles

Its a good possibility that the cp3 is slowing down, but, I would scan the cp3 with a tech 2 or someone around you with efilive and see how well the cp3 will keep up. If you command mazx rail rpessure at idle (160mpA) and the cp3 will hold it, the cp3 isnt your problem. But if it doesnt hold it, it very well could be your problem.
When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

You might check for soft fuel lines may be sucking shut on long climbs.

Btw just replaced mine,bought mine from sinister diesel for a pretty fair price. Definately want to confirm that it is truly bad. I had mine checked at gm for $60 and made them show me the results.

Here is the repair I wrote up when I fixed my fuel lines. It is on the dieselplace website. Doesn't really matter whether it is close to the CP3 or not. The ones underneath the truck will affect the fuel the CP3 can pull from the tank just the same.
