| installed 2 new batteries, still cranked slow. added new cables to starter. cranks good now, still wont start. noticed a puddle under the tank and found another leak, this ones in the return line. is there a check valve for the return line? when i pump the primer i get a solid stream from the return line and loose my prime over a few minutes.

| If you rebuilt or replaced the filter head & are still losing prime, I'd change the fuel lines from the filter head. |

| i guess i dont see how the filter or filter head have anything to do with a steady stream of fuel from the return line when the system is primed?

| The hand pump on top of the filter head has seals that leak and you will lose prime, usually after the truck has sat for a while. The fuel lines from the filter head are prone to leaking too. If the suction line to the tank has been replaced with a regular fuel line, it could (or the interior liner) collapse, and cut-off supply. I replaced mine from the stock metal line below the exhaust with hydraulic hose all the way to the tank. The return line is low pressure & I just used regular fuel line, both approved for diesel. Good Luck! |

| would a stuck open FPR cause fuel to return to tank? i have the return line disconnected and i can watch a stead stream come out when the primer is pumped. i cant seem to get an answer as to what retains the pressure at the rails from returning to tank. ive got my district trainer calling his contacts at gm, i called the local chevy dealer today, ive checked the gm manuals. man i dont understand why this is such a hard question to answer.

| The FPRV can cause this bottle test it if it fills up while your trying to start truck it is bad. What mods are done to the truck? Bad injectors can return to much fuel to start as well do a return rate test. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free App

i called the gm tech line and the guy said my FPR was stuck open. replaced it and still nothing, still has a steady stream returning to tank when primed. also it wont run up on a shot of ether, it did a few weeks ago, i had it running for around 5 min, thought i had it until it died.
