Just Bought Water Damaged Duramax

Just picked up a 2002 CC 4x4 DMax that had some type of water damage. Haven't determined how deep it got, but the engine bay is covered in dirt. The oil dipstick doesn't show any signs of water. The transmission stick does show some white sludge which I figured was water.

Here's my plans:
1. Attempt to turn balancer by hand to check to see if engines locked up.
2. If it spins free, drain all oil and check for water
3. Pull valve covers off to check for sludge
4. Drain front diff
5. Pressure wash engine and dry with blow nozzle

What else would you recommend?

Didnt think about the WD-40 yet. I've got some good electrical connector cleaning as well to use that I got from NAPA awhile back.

Don't know, I bought it from an insurance auction. I think they got it sometime in June of this year. Maybe I can do some research and find the original owner.

I dont know the exact way the truck got wet. I can see some water stain about 4-5" high off the floorboard on a sub woofer box on the drivers side under the rear seat. The stain doesn't go over to the other side though. Weird..??
