| Just Bought Water Damaged Duramax Just picked up a 2002 CC 4x4 DMax that had some type of water damage. Haven't determined how deep it got, but the engine bay is covered in dirt. The oil dipstick doesn't show any signs of water. The transmission stick does show some white sludge which I figured was water. Here's my plans: 1. Attempt to turn balancer by hand to check to see if engines locked up. 2. If it spins free, drain all oil and check for water 3. Pull valve covers off to check for sludge 4. Drain front diff 5. Pressure wash engine and dry with blow nozzle What else would you recommend? |

| Spay all wiring with some wd 40 and use some dielectric grease on all connections.

I dont know the exact way the truck got wet. I can see some water stain about 4-5" high off the floorboard on a sub woofer box on the drivers side under the rear seat. The stain doesn't go over to the other side though. Weird..??

| maybe he was trying to drive through a creek or a tank and only got that side of the truck in the water?
