 | loud knocking/smoking e-way breakdown This truck is killing my trust. 2004 LB7 8 injectors done in 2010 Cyls 1,3,5,7 done in 2011 Thanksgiving day i passed a vehicle and noticed a puff of black smoke. I get off the gas and its knocking. Bad. Instantly knocks upon startup and is not driveable. Chugs black smoke too. No codes are being thrown. Truck got towed 150miles and is now at the diesel shop. Any suggestions?

| The FICM balances the injectors to keep down harmonic vibrations in the crank. If an injector is going bad the rate at which it injects fuel is compromised and the FICM will pull or add fuel to try and keep the crank balanced. Anything + or - 4.0 is considered out of spec and needs to be replaced. Have the shop tell you the balance rates... |

__________________ 2006 2500 HD SLT ECLB, LBZ, Bilstein shocks,Banks 4inch exhaust, Alligator Adp Cat filter. And S&B air intake good to be driving a diesel again.  2002 Chevy silverado 2500 HD, LB7, traded it on a gasser and then traded it in for LBZ. |

| mine did the same thing but my injection pump blew up throwing metal shavings into my injectors causing the injectors not to fully close
