Looking at buying my first Duramax

Hello all,

I am new to the site but have been on other fourms before. I have owned other diesels before also but never a Duramax. I looked at a 2003 Chevy Crew cab short box Duramax 4X4 automatic this past Saturday. It looks to be in good shape. It has 164,000 plus miles on it. Leather interior and all the bells and whistle's of that year. It also has both a fifth wheel hitch and a goose neck hitch installed. I have not driven it yet but will on Monday afternoon.

Is there any thing that I should be aware of with this year of truck? What should I check for or listen to? The truck looks as if it has never been in a wreck and has one owner who is a Realtor here in Missoula Montana. The dealer is asking $10,500 for it. I don't know enough the Duramax to know what to look for.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Searching is your best friend. If you have more specific questions feel free but a common question like this may not get many responses from fellow board members.
