Few questions about a lb7

Well my buddy surprised me today with a phone call that hes about to buy a lb7 ( surprisingly cuz hes a cummins guy) well anyways hes buying it from a dodge dealership its an 03 with 91000 on the clock. He said when he first test drove it, it white smoked a little bit then after it warmed up it was a light haze. As being i font own a lb7 could this be bad i told him he needs to tell them you want to see the balance rates, i told them what they should be and also he doesnt no if and when the injectors have been replaced. Can anybody give me there input on what you think or Wat he should do?

my LB7 doesnt smoke at all .. now that the injectors have been replaced that is . Id tell the dealer that they need to get a quote for replacing the injectors with factory bosch injectors and then knock that much off the sale price . Its gonna need them sooner then later but id be willing to bet it needs them now .

Get a vin check to see if they have been replace. Then balance rates & return rates to check injectors. Likely needs a set, which is why it probably got traded in...

Where i get the vin where do i check to see if they have been? Surely a dodge dealer would have a tech 2 and that could check the rates right?

Just call any chevy dealer, they can run the vin.

Tech II will read rates. But that isnt always 100% accurate, return rates are a good idea to get also.

IMO id tell the dealership to check the rates and if it is injectors hav them fix them before u buy.. ive done it to a dealership before.. they all wanna make a sale and most dont want a bad rep on selling broken turds..and it saves u the knuckle busting after u buy, unless u dont mind do like guy said and have them knock quote off price and DIY.. just givin my opinion.
