01 Duramax issues

I just bought a new 2001 Duramax and been having funny things happen. First the fuel gauge stays off except when full then goes on for a second then straight to off. Also oil pressure says its high gauge only reads 80 and stays around 75 but really responsive to the gas pedal. Also the injectors are out and its smoking white like crazy. Are the injectors and oil pressure related, or are the fuel gauge and oil gauge related?

the injectors are obviously going out so I would get those fixed asap, I personally recomend Brent at Lincoln Diesel Services (Brent@LDS is his user name) and if you arent going to upgrade just get the bosch reman's they are around 1500 I believe, they will stand behind the warranty and exceed your expectations.

As far as your gauge cluster, your stepper motors are going out, it is very common. You can either get a new cluster and have your mileage changed over by a shop that does that, or if you can solder you can order some stepper motors off of amazon pretty cheap and even convert to some lights while you are in there!

I am out in New Mexico and I am having troubles finding a good mechanic and half decent price. I would like to put some upgraded ones in there since im breaking the bank anyway. And could to oil pressure being high like that hurt the engine?

I would also recommend Brent at Lincoln diesel not only did he give me a good price on injectors he always answers his phone and is ready and willing to answer any questions

Upgraded sticks are not really needed until 600+ wrhp so unless you planning to exceed that they aren't necessary.You'll have a hard time doing that on a stock transmission anyways.

I own two 2001's and both have had a fuel sending unit go bad, so don't assume the gauge is bad on the fuel.

Others can opine about how to determine which is which, I'm sure
