My truck turns over but will not start

My 03 Dmax problem started with my gauges not working intermittantly and then one day the didn't work at all all day.that evening when I went to start it, it cranked a little slow but it started. so I got on the freeway and realized my lights were dim and then the truck went into limp mode and wouldn't go over about 40 mph.so by the time I got off the next exit when I went to turn the corner the tranny did a couple of funny clunks and quit working. by then the engine was barely running so I shut it off. Batteries were totally dead by then. I had it towed home, disconnected the batteries and charged them. Now all it does is turn over and will not start.Gauges still don't work but engine turns over just fine. all other lights on dash work and I primed the pump so it seems to have fuel. The only code it gives me is P0380 for glow plug circuit A malfunction. but that doesn't explain the gauges not working and the batteries going dead. I also had the alternator tested and its good. What to do next ? Thanks.

Do you have access to a scan tool to monitor fuel rail pressure sensor to see what the pressure is coming from the inj pump to the rail?

You would think it would be the alternator if you we're losing charge where everything going dead.

Yeah i would definatly agree with ya. If they died while driving it for sure points at a charging issue. But if you have the batterys fully charged and it still doesn't start then it's got something else going on...

While your at it check if your primer button on the top of your fuel filter is hard to press. if its soft bleed some air out. Could be half of problem. Cranked it over so much to get it started drained your battery a bit. Just a thought.

Whens the last time your fuel filter was replaced? These trucks hate when you dont replace that. If it were mine I would get two 5 gallon cans of diesel, pour them in the tank, and change the fuel filter. Just my $0.02
