low boost

about all i can pull is 15psi. i tried a ppe valve and a big head both with results up to 20psi. if i vice-grip the wastegate hose i can see high 20's low 30's. any ideas as to whats wrong with this thing??

this is my first attempt at gaining boost since my first turbo poped. (just now gettin my nerve built back up).

Bad wastegate? Sounds like the wastegate is popping open too soon.

i have 2 factory style wastegates and a big head WG. it does it with at least one of the stockers i tried and also with the banks WG.

Maybe the hose to the wastegate has a pinhole in it. You said you get higher boost by using vice grips on that line. You try to change that line to the wastegate?

i tried that already. i forced some 3/16 hose on it and still no help. the other is 1/4 and has the ppe valve in it.

im gonna try my second factory wastegate and see if it helps.
