Black smoke?

Was just wondering what causes the black smoke when I get on the gas a bit? I do have an edge installed. Is that just extra gas burning off?? or what?

Yes, like reckneck tom said the black smoke that you are seeing is just basically half burnt fuel. The fuel does not have enough air for the amount of fuel that you are putting to it. But dont worry it is not unusual to see this its very common for diesels to do this.

yes it is common for a diesel with a chip on it to cause a little smoke but the more power you add the more smoke you will have..
