injectors/harness problem HELP!!!

1st post here guys so take it easy on me.
I am new to diesel engines I got a sweet deal on a 03 3500 SLT dually as far as I know its bone stock.
The problem is every now and then I have a loss of power/engines light comes on and cant keep highway speeds,other times it runs great.
I have had a fuel filter change about 1 month ago. I pulled codes from the truck basically P0201 thru P0208 and the last code was P2146.
The first 8 codes say- injector cicuit error for each of the 8cylinders and the last code was P2146 which says-
fuel injector group A supply voltage circuit open. Now I have searched alot of threads and read alot of posts and I still am not sure whats going on with the truck or how to track down and solve this problem. any advice or things to look for when I'm under the hood wold sure be appreciated. I'm only home on the weekends and have no access to my truck till fridays so I dont have much free time on my hands to really dive into it.

First check the VIN-- if the 8th digit is a 1-- it is a LB7- 01-04
Injectors and lines are under the valve covers.

If the 8th digit is a 2 it is a LLY-- and an 04.5 engine. The injectors and lines are visible and go through the valve covers.

It sounds like it is a 04.5 LLY -- and they had some harness problems, but was an easy fix.

After you find out for sure, please post the info and we will help you diagnose the problem. :cool

It appears that you have a harness rub--inspect the injector harness where it go through the valve covers and at each bracket where it is tied down to the engine- also at the fuel injection control module--Sorry I cannot be more specific.

I looked around for hours and couldn't pinpoint a rub anywhere. I'm stumped

I believe you need new injectors, that could be why you got such a good deal on it. The injector circuit open is what happens when the injectors get stuck open. You may want to check the engine oil to see if it smells like fuel, and or if you can see fuel drops in it. It will be kind of obvious.

You may want to go ahead and take to the dealer to have them check the flow rates, etc on the injectors, but it sounds as if they went bad and someone sold it cheap instead of replacing them themselves.

Well I got good news today from the Chevy dealer it was infact the harness rubbing they found it and fixed it $152 out the door. I really didnt get to talk to them about it as I'm working out of town but my injectors are fine they told me . I just want to thank you guys for helping me out.
