Injector Warrenty Dont Wait.

Hey I just wanted to put a bug in everyones ears that have lb7's and the stock factory injectors still. I can see that some dont know. Alot of 01-04.5 lb7 (8th digit vin #1) Have problems filling the crankcase with diesel fuel. Or smoking horribly on startup. Typically this means it needs injectors. Some trucks have hard delayed starting, meaning that an injector is bleeding down overnight. They have a special policy replacement warrenty, they are covered for 7 years or 200,000k. A lot of trucks are right about out of factory warrenty. IF YOU DONT KNOW IF YOUR INJECTORS HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED OR WANT TO KNOW WHEN YOUR TRUCK WILL BE OUT OF WARRENTY, POST A VIN CHECK IN THE VIN CHECK FORUM SO WE CAN TELL YOU. If you have already had Dont wait to go in their and tell them your crankcase was/is full of diesel. After the 7 years you could be on your own.

What is the difference in the stock injectors and the replacements ?

They redesigned them so they dont go bad. Its a 3200-3600 job is what we charge gm to do it. I just dont want anyone stuck with that bill.

So how do you tell the new injectors from the old? I think I heard that the new ones have a green or white mark on the top if them? I was quoted by the dealer $4900 or so for the whole job.

They're not as bad as the LB7's but they do still go bad. I just put 3 in an 06 LBZ today, so they're not bulletproof.

So just cuz they are a different color they are the " updated "

What exactly does bosch or gm do to the ' updated ' injectors ??

so how can we go about putting beter injectors in??why are they som exspensive to install

Customer pay it almost 5k for injectors. If you have already had your truck in under warrenty and they replaced the injectors, Most likley they are the updated ones.
