SAME THING for me. I changed my fuel filter last night and it now is taking longer to turn over. Once it is started it is fine, runs great!

Here was my post earlier...
I have changed my fuel filter several times and i have not had any problems until last night.

I changed it last night just like i do normally and when i put the new on back on i primed and then went to start and it starts but it is hesitating pretty bad before start up. Not sure what is going on here but its driving me crazy. Yes i did put the new o ring on and made sure it was tight. No fuel is leaking, i checked. So today it was doing the same thing, hesitating when starting. I cracked the bleeder screw and primed until fuel came out. Primed it again and went to start and the same thing? Anyone have any ideas. I am using the wix filter 33910. Is it possible to have a bad fuel filter?

Thanks for any help.

If all else fails, might want to check your injectors. This can be a symptom of failing injectors on the LB7. Matter of fact, we just did one a couple weeks ago at work. Came in as the same thing, longer/extended crank. It was an 03 with only 37k on it.

Okay took it to the GM dealer (the place i normally go) the other day quick to get looked at...injectors return rate is right on the money. and the amount of fuel that varies while at idle was from -.5 to .5 ... in all cylinders so it doesn't look like the nozzles are plugged either. Once it ran and we turned it off the high pressure side held pressure.

i took it in to a GM dealer and left it for the day today at a shop i don't normally use but it was close to the place i work: - wasn't happy with this place!

They checked the fuel quality - Good
Changed my fuel filter because i changed it last weekend and it wasn't a GM one
They said that my filter was had a low fuel level. After they changed it and they primed it started right up...turned it off and started right up again. If they let it sit it loses it's prime and cranks long again. They put a fuel pressure gauge on it and said it leaks down from 10psi...so thats all they did and wanted to charge me 300.00.

So what should i check for now? Is there any common places that it may have a leak...the mechanic thinks it might be around the area where the fuel filter goes on.

hmm

Is it true that the 200K mile warranty only covers the injectors if the return rate is wrong and the injectors are leaking internally???

If it is loosing prime, you have an air leak somewhere- be it the housing, WIF sensor, something...
