Check Engine Light Code 0380

I am getting ready to go out of town and my check engine light came on. Had it scanned and it came back as P0380 Crank Sensor (except diesel) I checked the internet for this code and it comes back as glow plug for the D-max. If it's the glow plug them I am happy since they have a ten year 200,000 warranty. Help please.

Mine said same code and was the controller. very easy to change yourself and save a bundle. Didn't fix my problem though. They called me yesterday and i am getting the full injector replacement on there dime.

If you paid for your own glow plug controller replacement you should check this out and get a imbursement from GM. Mine is also a 2003 with LB7 and got check engine light yesterday with DTC P0380.

is it the relay that you can get reimbursed or the actual glow plugs? my relay went a while back and the dealer wanted to charge me for it

I assume this special coverage started 2/13/2008. If your repair was done prior then that is the reason why Dealer was going to charge you. But, if you truck was within 5yrs/100K miles dealer should have covered the repair and parts anyway due to being a diesel engine. Check this comment stated on the special coverage "Claims with repair orders prior to February 13, 2008 must be submitted to the Service Contract provider.” Check your last eight VIN on the bulletin if it is listed and you can also call the toll free number to GM to inquire about it.

I had that code and it was my glow plugs. I got them replaced at the dealer on warrantee.
