Block heater

Using the block heater is a lot better for your engine to start when it is a little warmer, less wear on the motor, it is a lot cheaper to use electricity to warm up you motor than diesel fuel. I plugged in mine this morning, only for about 15 minutes while I loaded up the truck but better than nothing, left it plugged in while, I scrapped the windows with the truck running. Works for me.

Lot better for the engine to plug in the block heater on cold nights. I plug mine in when temps overnight get down into the twenties (F) and then in the morning it's an easy start and the cab warms up really quickly. Even with the remote start, the cold block/piston friction will be greater than if you use the block heater 'cause you're starting with parts that have not got the same coating of lubricating oil on them.
