I use amsoil for oil and valvoline full synthetic for the tranny and been happy with it. I picked up some milage and it keeps the tranny temp a little lower.

If you are just going to drain the pan, it is about 7.5. I am going to go Torque Drive on my next change- longer intervals as well as cooler running tran temp (on a little warm when towing travel trailer, but want it lower).

I change my spin on filter every 15-20K, but I did a full flush and internal change when I bought the truck last year and have not looked back. I run Torque Drive and have not looked back. However, there ARE less expensive alternatives for your truck that will give you great full synthetic results as well. I suggest doing your own research and have a chat with your choice of DuramaxForum.com Vendors about Amsoil if you want to know what it would cost, or have any specific questions.
