injector questions

What goes wrong with injectors when they go bad. Is it a different problem when they smoke at idle than when it fills the crankcase with fuel.

Also does a tuner that increases rail pressure make them go quicker?

This seems to me to be a very good explanation, and solution

Just a note, typically the injectors don't actually fail, they clog. If you spent the time to remove the injector fuel feed pipes that go through the valve covers and look down into the injector itself, you will probably find debris sitting in the small port. Slipping a short piece of heater hose over the threads and just long enough to protrude through the valve cover gives you a way to soak the debris in intake cleaner or atf and blow it all out without it going into the engine oil. I work on these a lot and 9 times out of ten our customer has brought it to the dealer and spent small fortunes for injectors, pumps. fpr's, fprv's and such when all that's really needed is a bit more maintenance and clean fuel supply.

It depends on why it's smoking
