A/C shutting down

Every now and then I'll being going along and the A/C will start blowing hot air. I stop and shut off the truck and restart it and it functions properly. This has to be some sort of switch going bad but I don't have any idea?

your refrigerant charge (R-134a) could be low. does it blow good and cold when it is working or just cool?

It blows cold. then it's just like I turned the heat on

I have the exact same problem in my 2003. Doesn't happen very often but when it does its like its blowing heat also and mine too functions properly when the truck is turned off then back on, i have no idea what it could be.

Probably the controls going bad.
