Operating Temps?

Hey guys I am new to Diesels and was just wandering what the normal operating temps were? I am talking engine coolant of course. Mine runs around the 180 - 185 degree area is that normal? Sorry for the noobie questions but I have only had gassers in the past that run around the 200* mark.

16 is too high. It should be around 14 to 14.5

Pretty much. The voltage regulator is failing to do its job. It's built in the alternator so you pretty much can't rebuild it like back in the old days you can replace a voltage regulator or a diode.
