ABS/E brake light on

I went to start my truck this evening, and the ABS/Emergency? Brake system light came on. Cannot get them to go off. Done a search, but not a clear cut answer. Will I have to take it in or is there something I can do about it.

My lights are on also. I was told to check the wheel bearings, that a bad wheel bearing could cause this. If bearings are good, take the abs sensor loose from the bottom of the bearing carrier and clean the rust off. I need to clean mine, just have'nt had time. Hope this helps

It could be a bunch of different things. Did you try just pulling up on the emergency brake?

If that doesnt work you can take it into a repair shop and have it scanned. They should be able to tell why thw light is on.

mine does the same thing when i try to calibrate my speedo to something bigger than 35.00... i can set it to 34.75 and lights stay off but anything bigger my dash goes haywire

dont know if you got bigger wheels and tires on your truck but its just a thought

mine does it on occasion, its a 04 lb7 all stock. when i start it the brake/abs light comes on, if i shut it off and restart it goes off. when its on, ive scanned it and says "no communication". im a technician and have found issues with the wire that supplies power to the abs module, corrodes and pulls voltage down so it cannot send the message through the can bus system. i havent had time to find exactly where the problem lies but when i do i will do a full write up on it. that the problem with being a tech, i fix everyone elses stuff but when it comes to mine i put it off. like i said mine olny does it once in a while and i ignore it cuse the next time i start it it wont be on. also it does it more frequent in colder temps below 35 degrees or so, did it only once or twice over the summer.
