Mild Clatter Under Acceleration

MOTOR idle's quite and very smooth no smoke but has a louder than average clatter under accel...kinda sounds like injector clatter any ideas or suggestions

runs like a champ no smoke all the way to red line just the clatter under load or cruise above 2300 rpm

How many miles are on you truck?

I agree with deeretracks. Buy a couple bottles of injector cleaner and run it in every other tank fillup a few times. That should help the noise and lube up everything.

Same here. I think it is just enough noise to remind you that you are driving a diesel.

Pilot injection........Its when the injectors fire a small amount of fuel into the cylinder as the piston is compressing. This way, when the main injection pulse kicks in its shooting the fuel into a flame. It gets a more effecient burn this way.
