Hey guys, my truck is maing a howling sound only at very low speeds once it warms up a bit and comes and goes. I just had to replace the transfer case (just bought the truck) and changed all fluids in the truck as they weren't in great condition. I know they're all full because I can;'t see any leaks. Almost sounds like it's coming from the tranny but can't be sure, Does anyone else's truck make this noise also?
Could it be your fan clutch mine really howls at first then it goes away unless its pretty warm then it comes and goes with engine temp.

the tranny does make some noise, but I would describe it as a whine and not a howl. Mine makes this sound almost all the time and it doesn't really change. As far as a howl, the wheel bearings are a constant problem....but it normally gets worse with speed. Mine howls when I am in 4wd on the highway.

Before I had my injectors replaced my truck was making a howling sort of noise after starting in the morning, but I haven't heard it since the fix. Is your truck smoking?
Thanks for all the replies fellas, apparently the wheel bearings were both done when the truck was being safetied, I'm thinking it must be this tranny whine as it goes away once the truck gets above 7-10mph, guess I'll just keep respecting her and see if it progresses or not. Thanks again.
