injector replacment

just to pick sumones brain on this..just bought an 03 silverado d-max and was wonderin how u could tell if the injectors had been replaced? was there sum way visually to tell.. a buddy suggested that it would have kinda of a goop type silicone stuff around where the valve cover gaskests are if they have been done...mine has this..is he right? or is there another way?

Well, I would bet, since the injectors on the LB7 is not a cakewalk to change, that if they were, more than likely a dealer did the job. You can always give your local GM dealer your VIN and they can run a detailed report on what has been serviced on your vehicle, as long as a GM dealership did the work.

yeah thats a possibillity i was just kinda wonderin if my buddy had a leg to stand on or not. lol

When they did mine they put new injector lines on also(I think that's what they call them). So I guess if you see some bright shiny lines and everything else is kinda dull looking you could have new injectors
