Does my truck have a Block heater

Hey guys,

my truck is a 2004 2500hd crewcab 4x4

i dont drive it everyday and it is sitting outside in 10 deg weather.... if it sits for more than 2 or 3 days it wont start

I was told that all later model desiels have block heaters from the factory...

i have looked and dont seem to find a cord anywhere...

is that true, would my truck have a block heater? if so where is it?

It should be right next to the fuel filter near the frame. Mine came with it, although I don't need it in the warm weather here.

Yep. It's 65 degrees here and it was warm enough for me to wash under the hood and mow the lawn

like the other guys said it is along the pass fender. its black with a black cap covering the prongs of the cord. hope this helps.
also check your glow plugs and the glow plug conductor. the conductor is a a bar that runs to each glow plug. apperently our trucks have a problem with the conductor bar rusting. i know because i am in the process of replacing mine.
id say you might have some sort of problem like that. it has been in the single digits here and i let mine sit for over a week not pluged in and it started but with a BUNCH of white smoke. that is how i knew i had a problem with my plugs.

my glow plugs are working fine the truck just doesnt have enough juice after turning them on to crank the truck more than 15 seconds.....And again that is sitting outside in 10 deg weather for 2 to 3 days

i am assuming i have a couple borderline batteries... i just dont want to buy them now
