I got started on it today and it seems doing the turbo and all the pipes would have been easier and maybe faster to remove the motor...

I have a truck/car lift I put 2x12's 0n for scaffolding so I can walk around the front. works out good. It's my first time tearing into this motor other than changing the injectors and it was a nightmare removing the bolts on the up pipes and down tube. Maybe it will be easier going back together.

it took Freighttrain and i a decent amount of time to do it. use a big breaker bar on the studs, takes them off like butter. same for the hex head bolts on the covers and the heads themselves.
