You have slipped the clutches. If it does this on the stock engine tune then it is time for a rebuild/upgrade. If you are still running a programmer then you can turn it down and make it last a while longer but the clutchs are already glazed and will not hold for much longer.

I don't believe it has a programmer unless it was done and not turned to stock tune when it was traded in before I purchased it. Is there any way to tell or make sure it is on the stock tune?
It is starting to sound like you could have possibly bought someone else's old hot rod truck. I didn't see anywhere where you said how many miles are on the truck, but since it's used and not from a private seller (you don't know its history), there's a chance that the previous owner had a programmer on it, and noticed the tranny starting to go, so he put it back to stock and traded it in before it became his burden. And apparently he must have fooled the dealer, and now they could be passing the fooling on to you (unfortunatley). If you haven't had the truck long, take it back and show the dealer what they sold to you. Depends on the dealer, but some will work with you, and some won't. Some dealers offer 30-day warrantys or something like that on used vehicles they sell. It'd be worth looking in to, since it sounds like your truck needs a new tranny
If my clutches are slipping would it be possible to fix it with a TTS trans upgrade kit or should all of the clutches be replaced when its apart? Don't really have the cash to fix all right now, but if all clutches need replaced (or should be) I would rather try to hold out to fix it right with a sucoast or ats trans. thanks for all the help
I am a new member and i have an 05 lly with the banks six gun w/speed loader afe stage2 with pro guard 7, 5" downpipe back exhaust. I limped the tranny for the first time about two weeks ago and just limped it again last night....both times I really wasnt running it hard I was just passing a car rolling into the throttle and bam limp mode! What would be a somewhat inexpensive fix for my problem? Truck has 50k on it and was owned by a older guy that never pulled anything so it has had a easy life up until I bought it. can I fix my problem for less than a thousand dollars?
