it's trans limp. yeah, locks into 3rd when i get around 80. i got about 80k on her and i really don't wanna get a trans, and neither does my girlfriend if ya know what i mean...
There is really not much you can do other than backing off the extra power or building the trans. When you start getting close to those higher speeds you will just have to baby it extra carefully!

mine does the same thing, when in acclerating to fast once i hit 80 i loss over drive then i reprogram my PPE, but if i ease in to it i can go over 80 no probley

When you are in OD the line pressure drops in the transmission letting you slip it much easier. The only fix like stated above is either build it or back the power down. Every time you do it the clutches burn a little more and it will just be even easier to do the next time. Eventually you will have to rebuild it but if you back the power down you can make it last a while.
