Smelling Antifreeze what would cause this

Hello everybody i have an 02 2500 duramax i just now started to smell antifreeze all the time when im driving my truck. I think its a blown head gasket but wanted to get someone elses opinion. If so where would be a good place to get aftermarket heads.

You might have a pin hole in a hose somewhere or a leaking water pump. If you smell it on the inside it could be a bad heater core. If none of the above, try a leakdown test. I will do some research on the heads for you with some of the companies I deal with.

Yah dont smell it in the cab, the only time i smell it is if im driving down the road with the windows down. I did a leak down check and found nothing, as far as the hose goes didnt find anything there either thats why im thinking it might be the head.

If you did a leakdown properly and it checks out ok, I think you have some type of a leak in the engine compartment. Check around the radiator, intercooler and the hoses. I had the same problem before and it turned out to be a pinhole in a hose. You would have to let the truck get up to operating temp. and look under the hood. Have someone put their foot on the throttle some. I couldn't find it until i did this and under pressure it started to spray just enough for me to see it.
