Wire Harness Failure TSB

Has anyone heard of the wiring harness going to the injection control module on the passenger side of the engine having a TSB in reference to wires grounding out on a bracket or something. I just had new injectors (RECALL WORK) less than 150 miles ago. The truck just died yesterday and would not crank back up. The stealership assured me that this was an existing problem prior to their work last week. It may just be me but this sounds like a bunch of crap. I was wondering if any one of you have heard of this before.

They supposedly did it to mine, there was no problems- just did it for reassurance to prevent (dealership actually being nice). From the way that I understand it, it is a loom of wires that runs by the alt (correct me if wrong), can wear through and cause problems, supposed to be pretty common though.

Those are the wires. It just seemed kinda coincidental to me. The main reason I believe that is they initially quoted me $225 to fix this. Less than 1 week after their DIESEL TECH had his beaters all over them replacing my injectors. Maybe its just me...if there was a "problem" in this area I would have inspected it when I had it all apart to keep myself looking guilty of sabotage. These are harsh words but i am pissed. I didn't mention another tow truck fee did I.

There's actually 2 problems. The bracket by the FICM next to the alternator will wear thru and ground out your wires. Place a piece of heater hose around the loom and re-tiewrap it to the bracket.
2. There is a TSB for the NO. 2 and 7 injector connections. They have too much tension on them and eventually become loose. I read on "Diesel Place" about poking thru the connector tangs with an ice pick to make them have a better connection. Search "ice pick trick". There is a factory repair with two new connectors and brackets but sounds like you have to be broken down before they will repair it. They have extended the warranty to cover this issue. Still may be a $100. deductible.

The two bulletins you are referring to are for the LLY duramax 04-05 model year. The LB7 did not have problems with the injector connectors nor the wires chaffing around the FICM
