I need a new radiator

I just put a motor in my truck motor has less than 5000 miles
on it and is perfect unless you pull a steep grade then it wants to heat up about 10-20 degrees depending on the incline I was told when they put in the new motor that the radiator had a huge patch job done to it and thats the problem. It never did this before the motor change. The only things the dealership said it could be is the fan clutch or the radiator, and since there is a crescent shaped patch about 10''-12'' i was gonna do this first
any other guesses and where I might get a radiator cheap
also what am I getting myself into to change this radiator?
a lot of work?
plmk thanks

Reman radiators should not be expensive as some dealer ones...And changing the radiator is a snap, just don't strip the lines/with a slippin wrench, use locking pliers!

Internet diagnoses is difficult at best..Tried the salvage yard??They prob have one better than ya got, even if ya have to do some minor braze/welding on it..And yes dealer prices are Ridiculious!!!More info, how hot do you let it get?How hot has it ever gotten??

Exclamation Hot potato...

Too hot.I would try to fix it..I know ya pain, the night before I put the trans in my ol Malibu years ago,the old engine backfired through the carb and caught on fire, was not bad, could have been a lot worse,my point, don't comprimise the engine over a part that may only cost ya a few hundred bucks!!
