| Trans upgrade
Does anyone on here have any experience with BD's allison upgraded trans and TC? My local diesel performance shop is suggesting that I put this in. Or do you feel that the Suncoast unit is superior. BTW they are telling me about 6K for everything installed. Thanks

| For that price get a suncoast. My stage IV cost $2700 for parts and $1000 for the install plus a little oil. I don't really know anything about the BD parts, they may be fine but Suncoast is a proven kit and is much cheaper.

I want a Suncoast too,and the price was more 3-4000 dollars,[when I did the pricing] but IMO 6 is a bit too high

| Is the suncoast a build kit or a swap. The BD was a swap with converter. Also do you know any Suncoast dealers around Lancaster, PA. Thanks

Thanks | They have vendors on this site that build,ship,core and warranty these units,and their service is great.One of these vendors can hook you up real nice..  There is also a mech on here that built his own stage 4 IIRC....

| The price that i was mentioning was for a build kit. They have a complete transmission for a swap, it is the Stage V. I am not sure the price on it, but i still think you would be under 6k for it and would have a better Tranny IMO.

| Thanks, I will have to check into this a little further. Would be nice to know if anyone here has any experience with the BD unit. I am curious how it holds up. My tech says that he has installed for about 6 guys in my local area and they all like it. Guess I'll have to ask him who they are so I can get some feedback from them.

^^^Yep,I got a price on a stage 5 shipped to my door,I wanted to keep my core.The price with me keeping my orig was between 5-6 grand...P.S. I STILL WANT IT!!!But running my business and prices on fuel,4 kids,gonna build a 4 br home in the next year,she says I gotta grow up I'm the one with the money$$$  Maybe I can burn the stock one,then she won't know what I go back in with  I love how the wife just says ''go ahead,you do what ya want any way''....

| a shop that one of my friends works at suggested that i buy the bd, so i looked into it it was only rated for 450 hp and was about the same price you mentioned, for less money you could get a trans that would hold over 600 hp or something comparable for a ton less. thats why i went with ats
