I have a friend that had his 2005 LLY 2x4 in the 11's quite a few times and it was his daily driver. Until it shortened the rods that is.

As posted put a tranny in it along with good tuning and you should break into the 12's without hurting the engine.

Lots of trucks will make 650hp for awhile. In a 2wd you will need at least 700hp to run 11's, probably closer to 800hp. I would do a tranny a small turbo upgrade and some good tuning and your 2wd may get into the 12's. that is about as far as you can go safely with no internal work.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and lots of it...drop back into the 500's on HP and your Duramax will last alot longer..
i wouldn't look at anything else but EFILive if you want big HP but if you want a streetable t6ruck that will last a long time go with the ATS E-Power or PPE Hot ET+2..

Once you upgrade one thing, you have to do another, and once you get so high in HP and upgrades, then things start breaking, etc, etc. So unless you have a endless money pit, good luck.
