Question What do I need for 650hp?

Well i'm a newbie at the d-max Isuzu Motors.Well I just bought a 2001 reg cab long bed Duramax and was wondering whats the highest HP I can get without busting the wallet?Meaning nothing internal(Pistons,Heads).Probably gonna have to upgrade the tranny after 90 hp right?

Well what is a good combination?
Parts and details would be good since im a newbie, gonna get it done from a diesel shop.Though still looking for a great combination! And also whats the budget looking at?
Thanks a lot fella's

If im not mistaken anything past 600hp your yakin a good chance on hurting the bottom end... but anywho...
Prgrammer should be EFI LIVE
Trans I would say SUNCOAST or ATS
and I cant remeber from readin here but I think your gonna need to upgrade the turbo... and ATS can help ya with that... and also some guages
I am pretty sure I am forgetting other things but there is a start...

Anything more then 500rwhp you are on barrowed time. THe right tuning and driveing style will help make it live longer but...... If your not prepared to build an engine keep the stock turbo and fule pump and tune it. THe setup i run is good for 650ish hp but i keep the power down a bit trying to keep it alive. It has dynoed 562rwhp a year ago but ive pplayed with tuning so much it isnt fair to say its still there. I have giveing it more power but i woulod still say im only in the 600 ballpark! Another truck local to me setup the same other then turbo brand, same tuning, same power level only lived 4 months, so take it for what its worth!

A setup like this would be a solid 500rwhp truck and would/should live!

With a 4x2 truck I doubt you'll ever get into the 11's. By the time you add enough power to get you there, the torque will be so high that you'll most likley spin any tire you can put on the rear. My thinking is that it'd be quite an accomplishment to make it in the 11's WITH 4x4, and a stock motor. If you can do it WITHOUT 4x4 then you'll have about everyone here amazed!!
