DTC P0381 - Glow Plug/Heater Indicator Circuit

I searched, and didn't find anything on DF related to this code. The check engine light has come on three times since I had the truck. I had the code pulled at Advance Auto the first two times, and it was this code. I took it to the dealer I bought it from after the first time, and they said there was a knock in the engine, and said they replaced the valves...never said anything about the Glow Plug Circuit. It came on again a couple of weeks later, and was on part of the day and went out. Now, it came on again another couple of weeks later, and went off in about a day. Any ideas?

Fed truck odds are it's the controller.

Cal truck odds are it's 1 or more of the glow plugs. Cal trucks have an extended warranty for the glow plugs.
