| I have read on several posts in here that up to 100 HP will be as much as you can safely run.
However there are a ton of guys running the gauntlette, and pushing the 225 and more extra HP.
I guess it is totally dependant on how agressive you drive your truck.
I have my PPE set to level 2 (90 HP) until I get at least the transgo JR done,
All the locals say I should man up and get it to level 4, but they won't chip in for a rebuild if I limp it.
Just my .02

| The 5 speed like you have is only good for around 90 hp. You can run more, but will really have to watch the 4-5 and 5-4 shifts. That is when you are most vunerable. There really isan't anything cheap you can do to help the 5 speed. A suncoast stage III kit is about the cheapest thing that is really gonna help.

| I agree, I am runnin my PPE on level 5 (220HP). This is not the best thing to do if you are pretty hard on the truck and you defintely have to watch the 4-5 5-4 shifts or you might regret it. Anything over a 120HP tune, or about 90HP at the rear wheels, is defintely pushing your luck. A shift kit will help handle some extra power but if you want to go hardcore then a stage IV or V suncoast tranny may be in order.

| To do a proper shift kit in a 5 speed you'll need to pull the trans anyway.
As stated, no cheap dates with the 5 speed.
SC stage 3 is a nice build with clutches and converter included. PM if you'd like a price. |

| if you want it to last a long time don't add more then 80-90RWHP but if you want it to last for awhile but you want lots of power by the time you rebuild it the Allison is an awesome tranny and will take more abuse then any other tranny that i have run but to much power and it will break also.
i ran the 350PPE tune for around 15,000-20,000 miles before doing a Stage 5 SunCoast.

| Like Rob said, to do the full trans go kit the transmission has to not only come out, but also come apart. Its basically an update kit for rebuild. You might as well spring for the full stg 3 or stg 4 treatment and be done with it.

| Yeah I don't really wanna change the whole tranny, though I wouldn't mind changing every component inside of it.Just like my Dodges Goerend everything.
