| if you are talking the motor that shifts the transfer case its on the out side if the tcase should be easy to change like 3 or 4 bolts and a wire plug and i do not think it will leak oil

| Ya i agree. I havent done one myself but I looked at mine before and I think its easy to do. Buy the new one and see what the side thats in the trans looks like. As long as there are no cables going to or from it Id say do it yourself!

| It Should Look Like A Power Window Motor But Just Has A Square Shank That Goes Into The Motor Gears To Turn A Shaft To Shift

Thats kinda what I thought! I wonder if there is a key way so that the trucks is not in 4Hi and the motor thinks its in 2hi?

| I checked it out on alldatadiy.com and it looks pretty easy to change...the hardest part looks to be removing the propeller shaft (that's what they call it)....other than that it looks pretty easy. The part number that it shows for my truck for the part is 88962312. That is for the 263 transfercase. It says it should take .6 hours to replace. gmpartsdirect.com has the motor for 436 plus shipping....I would try to see if that is the right part number from the dealer if they will give it to you though.
