Balance rates should be checked with truck idling on stock tune engine at operating temp. + or - 4 in park and + or - 6 in drive with foot on brake is acceptable according to GM.
They're not bad. Nothing to get worried about. Balance rates don't tell the whole story, even if it's a little out of spec it's not bad. Only when you're smoking or making oil should you be concerned.
Noticed that those rates were checked on power level 3, they should be checked on the stock tune unless 3 is your stock tune and I agree that the balance rates don't tell the whole story just something to keep an eye on.
Spec is 4.0 +\- in park. 6.0 +\- in drive. Your balance rates are well within spec. The only reason to check balance rates would be if there is an issue, (smoke, making oil). Your injectors are very sensitive. So be picky about your fuel. A bad batch of fuel makes my lb7 run like crap. Even if a balance rate was 5.2 in park, it wouldn't be alarming. Just keep an eye out on it though. Your balance rates are good.
