Hey guys,
I have a 2001 2500HD Duramax. Noticed some issues when in 4wd, checked and no fluid. Found the pump grinding hole in casing where fluid leaked out. How hard a fix is this? Should I bother with the dealer? What other upgrades should I be looking at while I am in there?

You have never heard of pump rub you should read up on it and get your truck fixed up before you have a very expensive repair ahead of you. If you call Mike L he sells a fix for 50 bucks. You need to do Mikes fix before it rubs threw.

I put the merchant kit my wifes truck when i had the tcase out for trans rebuild, It was still 100% fine @ 45,000miles, but others arent so lucky! I have yet to do my truck but will next time i have any of the drive line out!! I will probally use the kit from mike l. @ Ingelwood transmission next time though. his kit wasent avaliable when i did the other truck!
How big a deal is getting that transfer case out of the truck?
Not a big deal,just a heavy one... Get some help,or a damned good trans jack if poss,strap it on jack fer safety sake...

Does this 'pump rub' affect only the Dmax trucks, or is the same transfer case used in all the trucks so they all have the same issue, Dmax or gas?
