A little info. I replaced all 8 injectors and CP3 pump and high pressure fuel lines(cheap ones). Finally got the truck running and I have a fuel leak that I can not visibly see. The diesel is on passenger firewall(soaked) and up by the passenger fuel rail. When driving down the road, which run great. I'm pouring white smoke with diesel or something similar coming out of my exhaust. Covering my wife's windshield. Any ideas where to start? I bought the cheaper set a fuel lines which did not fit very well could there be a leak on the injector side nut under the valve cover? That would cause this problem?
Not sure how I'm getting an external leak and burning through the exhaust?
Thanks for any help. I really don't want to tear back into it
First do the "Paper Towel" test-. drop some engine oil on a paper towel- the oil will make a dark spot and the fuel [if any] will make a halo around the oil spot. That will tell if you have fuel in the oil.
Im pretty sure i got it figured out. I bought new cheaper HP fuel lines and had a hard time getting them to fit. So i found a leak on top going into rail and found one that looked on a bind going to the injector. Loosened both ends then tightened injector side first then rail side. No more white smoke and no more diesel running down my motor. Thanks for the replies and if your looking to get new hard lines don't go for the cheap ones
