P0090 error code

I am looking for some input on a problem I am having with my 2001 Duramax 3500. A couple of months ago the service engine light would come on and I would not be able to go over 25 mph. Pull over, turn off the engine, restart and it would reset and be fine. This continued to happen every now and then. Two weeks ago, the problem would not go away and I would continually get P0088, P0089, P0090 error codes. I replaced the ECT sending unit and pigtail, and put a new fuel filter on. It corrected the problem. Then a week ago, the same thing started again, service engine light and could not go over 25mph then 10mph, same error codes came up again. Talked to three diesel mechanics, everyone was convinced that it was the Fuel Pressure Regulator so I dropped the $400 and installed it yesterday. First road test, service engine light came on and error code P0090 came up, cleared it and everything was fine. Drove over 50 miles and then it started all over again, same error codes. I am very discouraged.

Anyone have any advice or experience with this problem?

TIA

on a 2001 we need to know the mileage and the current mods you have.It sure would help if you knew if OR when the injectors were changed.Have you checked the injection pump to see if it is sending fuel to rail? The 01 Duramax had issues with injectors,so look into that FAST,cause it is 200,000 miles or 7 years for the replacement warranty on the LB7 engines! If you listen to everything folks say without them actually looking into it,that's trouble..It sounds like your IP may be a lil weak or the injectors goin.Does it smoke heavy? Is it hard to crank?Just some ideas...
