where to tap for my boost gauge? - Chevy and GMC Duramax Diesel Forum

01-04.5 LB7 Duramax Powertrain Discussion of components that are directly involved in the power production and all that is needed to get and keep the truck moving . Engine , Transmission, Etc.

where to tap for my boost gauge?

I just got some ditigal autometers and need to know the best place to drill and tap for my boost gauge i cant tap into the vacumm line cause of the sensor next best spot? picutres would be great

2002 gmc crew cab shorty leveled on twentys
-Efi Live w tunes from Vegas
-5 inch turbo back MBRP
-Autometer ditigal cobalts on the pillar
-PPE stage IV trans built by me
-AD II 165
-tie rod sleeves

You can't tap in to the vac line bc of what? Our models are the easiest to do. All you need is a knife, screwdriver and 5 minutes...

I prefer mine as well.....I like to know whats entering the motor and not off the turbo, easier to diagnose a lose in psi as well.

Cant tap into the vac line because i can not find a brass T anywhere with a 1/8" npt FEMALE on it. Has to be this way because its a DITIGAL gauge so it uses a sender.

And thanks brian ive never seen those before....little more expensive then i was hoping for though

Ahhh, i gotcha. Did you hit up lowes and home depot and Ace Hardware?

Use a brass T with 1/8in npt female on all three sides, then get 1/8in male fittings. for the hose ends.

I think alligator performance sells a boost hose with a tap in it as well, post cac.

tried all the local home depots exc. but no worries was in tacoma and stopped by baxter and picked up a brass t and two barbed males thanks for trying till i figured it out boys haha

can some one post a pic of where you guys are putting this in i have a new glow shift i want to get in and just not sure.

2001 gmc 3500 ext. cab duelly auto. mbrp 5" turbo back, ppe biv, pump rub fix, ats diff cover, amsoil in all, alligater turbo horn, airaid cai, and ranco 9000XL's, ARP head studs.

im tapped in between the compressor housing and wastegate
