well if your towing on the flats you should be ok then with the performance setting but in the hills i would drop it forsure but thats up to you..
i have a quadzilla commander shitting at the shop here that has everything you need to hook up your gauges, like boost, egts, oil temp or tranny temp(i forget the rest)..it needs a pod but i would sell for $250(shipped)brandnew(new they are $370 or so)..its a stand alone setup so it will work by itself.

The gauges and the normal set up is in my 04.5 cummins. It needs tires so I am using my duramax for this haul. I just havnt had the extra $$$ to get the Dmax set up right. Thats why I wanted yalls opinions on what setting. I used the Dmax as my welding rig not a hauler. If I had any xtra $$$ I would be interested in your quad, but I am straped and leaving Sun for CA.

Run it on the 40hp setting. If you do run on the 75hp setting make sure you keep your RPM's up. Dont let it lug down, thats when you will get it hot. Higher RPM's means more boost, that will keep it cool.

NWTDiesel's truck is NASTY. Blacked out miles of road down I25 and beat up on 505Outlawz 11.5 car from a roll. I was trying to keep up but my Cummins is slow

I run the BDTD and for 160 bucks you can get the pyro (egt's) cable. The BDTD has all the guages you can need. Boost, Pyro, Trans, etc...And i tow a 28 ft. Baja speed boat on performance and i never get hot. You should be fine towing on performance.

Everybody keeps talking about keeping the tuner turned down while towing. I don't understand. I keep my six-gun on 6 at all times, and now my boat is only about 4500 lbs, but I only see egts at about 800 degrees at 65 and peak at 950 when going up hill or picking up speed. Banks claims 155 hp and 350 lb/ft at level 6 on the lb7 engine. Of course, I don't pin it all the time, and drive conservatively. So what benefit do you get with a lower tune setting? For me, I see better numbers on the higher tunes.

Heat soak.

The benifit from a lower hp tune, is well, lower everything. lower fuel etc.
I dont understand when people tow on high levels just do to it. I have a built trans and I tow stock, im not in a hurry to get where im going, but thats just me.
