Power feels low on banks 6 gun

My dads truck has the full 6 gun kit with the PDA. I noticed this the other day while driving it and he noticed it to and its that the truck feels very laggy but once it builds boost it pulls hard. Just doesnt have the grunt like it did in the beginning. The truck on has 24k miles on it and it is a 2004 so it sits alot. My dad actually babies it quite a bit but once in a while he likes to play with it.

The only thing I can think of is that it was not in level 6 for very long with either of us so it really didnt have a chance for the tranny to learn. I wouldnt think that would cause it to loose low end power though. Its a pretty significant decrease though it will barely spin the tires and it is on stock tires.

Banks will not give him any advice because he bought it through someone else even though is was a 100% brand new kit.

Oh forgot to mention he did reset all the max recall features and he said it still had a boost peak of 23 psi. Which it was 24psi when it was first installed but who knows it may have been a colder day that day. I still assume its running the 21psi after that quick boost spike settle down.

Any ideas on the issue would be a great help thanks in advance.

I dont know if it will matter much but is it early 04 or late 04? it could be the first sign of injector issues but 1 lb of boost isnt much...

just as a pointer... when you wanna drive miss daisy leave the truck alone.... but everytime you wanna have some fun and play, put it in tow haul mode.... this will allow the tranny to learn 2 different driving techniques so everytime you kick it to tow haul, it will want to play... and also dont always drive it in top performance mode... save that for tow haul mode... daily drive in a lower setting..

As for the lower power, when was the last time the fuel filter was changed?

That's what I was thinking as well. Check the fuel filter, and air filter for that matter.

The fuel filter was changed when the kit was installed and that was at around 19k I believe. The intake that came with the Banks kit was installed then to so it has been that long since the filter was cleaned. Should I trust that little gauge on the filter box? I dont think so but you guys would know alot more than I would.

Yeah if only we all had a duramax to just sit until you need to pull the trailer or the boat. Hence why I dont by my own Dads is always available.

buy a edge juice you fell the difference in it from the six gun i got rid of my banks for a edge and never will regret it

did u learn the tranny? mine did the same thing and i put a new fuel filter on it and it came right back

Yeah but when you have already spent almost 4k for the full banks kit kinda hard to just go to a edge.

The fuel filter is suppose to only have about 5k on it right now.. I am sure my dad said it was replaced at the time of the banks kit install.
