Hey sweet.. Congrats!

I put the muffler on mine while I was installing the exhaust. I started it and took it off. Straight pipe is the way to go

i never ran a motto but i have run Magnaflow,MBRP and Silverline and IMO MBRP or Silverline are the best but then again that's my opinion...

i have never heard of a case where removing the muffler effected the shifting? Doesnt make any sense at all!!! Maybe it was the beers you had while removing the muffler before the test ride, lol

straight pipe is the way to go. Sounds sweet and isn't that loud either unless your foot is in it and even then it's not that bad.

On the 03, how did you work around the hangers? What is the exact diameter of the the replacement pipe? Just got my truck and wanting to make it a straight pipe.

mine has a nice rumble but moded different than normal no cat on 01 so replaced stock muffler with 304 ss glasspack 4"in and out and 4.5 tip 304 ss sounds deep at idle and rumbles at 2200 rpm through shiftand will hold as long as your on it! real attention getter everyone says sounds great .. in cab is good as well.. but also legal for muffler states ebayed muffler and adapters from 3.5 to 4 in and out for $125.00 muffler shop install 50.00 was not sacrificing factory stainless to go to aluminized id replace every three years .. heavy salt in winter ..northern mn
