I'm interested in upgrading the stock turbo on my 03 silverado 2500HD. I occasionally haul very heavy loads and I would like something that helps with as much as possible in the following areas: low end torque, fast spool up time, upper rpm snort for passing, and decent for fuel economy. I don't tow with my foot in it while cruising but I like to get up to speed quickly and efficiently. I know garrett makes great turbos, and I'm curious if anyone has upgraded their turbo and if so, what the results have been.
I haven't done anything to my truck in terms of tunes. This is going to be a process ongoing. I have a friend that sold his Dmax and is willing to give me an EFI Live for cheap. Either that, or I will pick up a bully dog. I live down by the U of M. I'm a grad student in Mechanical Engineering. Whereabout do you work in Brooklyn Park?
Cool. Not very far from me. He'll sell the EFI Live to me for $500.00. He said that if I don't buy it he's just gonna hang onto it till he gets a new rig. He's going through a divorce so he had to part with is toy. lol
Thats a good deal for EFI Live. Thats what I picked mine up for used. Let me know if you need help with anything I can help you out. It would be nice to meet some guys from the cities here. I have meet a few on another forum that is based out of the midwest and about a dozen or so of us are in the TC area.
