just got a 02 gmc crew 4x4, tow a boat some and tractor couple times a year. what is the most reasonable priced and best tuner to get. just by searching i see it could be a ppe standard or quad but just needing advice. really looking to get better mileage with a little power. i am down to quarter tank and only hove about 280 miles on the tank. i do have 305 tires that could be one reason not getting very good mileage.
I recommend the Edge Juice w/ Attitude or EVO Race cause it comes with built in safety features and all the gauges you need to watch your motor and tranny included in the tuner. No need for gauge pillars and other installations. With the Quad and PPE you SHOULD install gauges to watch the important stuff (EGTs, Boost, Tranny Temp) However, I have read about some people on here having problems with Edge stuff on LB7s and LLYs. Do your research and all it really comes down to is what YOU want.
Keep in mind when you get a tuner for fuel efficiency you have to keep your foot out of the turbo in order to see the benefits of said tuner.
Good luck and happy hunting

The tires don't help really. Bigger tires really hurt the fuel mileage, but your on the right track programmer wise. PPE or Quadzilla will be the best ones for your LB7. The edge evo isn't out for the LB7, and the Juice really is not recommended, especially on the LB7's. They've had lots of propbelms with them.
I'd say go with PPE. Best tunes, and smoothest power delivery and shifting.
Let me know if I can help you out with some prices or anything
The best available option for your LB7 truck is a PPE tuner. They run and shift much better than all of the other canned tuners out there. You will also be able to adjust your speedo and read/clear DTCs. If you want an all-in-one package, I suggest going with the Edge Juice/Attitude monitor. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
I just picked up a PPE Economy tuner for $250 from ebay. Read all the great reviews on here and decided PPE is the way to go. Next will be the exhaust and gauges.

I have run the quad. its cheap and I liked it...I haven't ran a PPE but I haven't heard anything bad about them...the quad is more bottom end power and the PPE seems to be more top end...either are great choices stay away from the juice w/ attitude though.
