I have one and love it. With my 6-Gun in level 6 and running HARD, my EGT's have never been over 1345degrees.

Well im looking at trying to get some more power out of my truck without killing my driveability. I do tow alot. I have a 35' fifth wheel. So Im looking at mods that will give me power while keeping my egt's down. I want to upgrade my programmer too but am kinda torn on which one to get. Everyone keeps saying to do the fuel system but what exactly? Injectors and lift pump? And what the heck is shimming the fuel rail?
You won't need to shim the fuel rail til you pass the upper end of your factory power. Try a 6-gun, Edge, or EFI Live if you don't mind spending the money. EFI is by far the best, if you have someone you trust to tune it.

An intercooler will help drop EGT's across the board, so you're not hurting anything by adding one. They are a bit spendy, but will allow you to stay in it longer while pulling your trailer. It will also be up to the task if you decide to add a larger turbo or twins in the future.
