do one or the other...i did it to the wire on the brake pedal because I didnt want a separate switch to remember to turn off everytime I drive the truck.

Yes the Tech II is a dealer only programmer or you can buy it for like $5000 and then worry about getting updates because you arent a dealer.

It did not affect it all that bad, and yes I can still hook up to my 5th wheel without a problem.

PPE now makes a kit with a switch, wiring, and the pins. I found them on the net the other day. The switch is made to go in the switch holder by your passenger airbag key switch.

Alligator (a vendor on this site) sells them... follow the link....

The "Quick and Easy High Idle" that I started this thread talking about is everything in this kit. Plus this kit comes with a nice switchplate to make it look factory. It's made by PPE, and Jayme at Alligator Performance wouldn't put it on his website if it was "fishy."

Yeah, it costs $60 (I wasn't gonna post it in the forum as it is against the rules but I'm reitterating what ^^^^ said), but it is a pain to get the pins for the CPU from the dealer, it comes with all the necessary wiring, a switch, and a OEM GM switch plate to go over the top of your Passenger Air Bag switch so it looks factory.

It may cost $60, but you don't have to do any of the legwork involved with chasing down the parts and waiting for the stealership to get you the pins.

My time is worth that much.
